Write an essay that draws, in some detail, on Eric S. Jenkins’s article “The Modes of Visual Rhetoric: Circulating Memes as Expressions” while arguing that a particular, widely circulated internet phenomenon of your choice can be understood as a mode.
Explain and elucidate Jenkins’s theory and his criteria, and then demonstrate how these criteria apply to the phenomenon you select, just as Jenkins’s article does with “Fail/Win” memes.
