This is a two-part assignment.
Select one of the diseases or health conditions found in chapters 23-29 in the textbook. If you are using Diabetes, you must focus on Type 1, Type 2 or Gestational.
PART I- In a paper discuss the nutritional principles that either contribute to this disease, or how nutrition is used to control or alleviate the symptoms of this disease.
Paper (text/discussion) should be at least 6 double-spaced pages. Refrain from use of personal stories, either you, a family member or friends; this is a scientific-based discussion on nutrition and health.
PART 2- Create client health education materials to teach the client what foods they should or should not eat for their health condition. You must use the same condition that you used in part 1. The material should be written at the 5thgrade reading level. Do not use this brochure to explain the disease or health state. The education material can be a brochure, pamphlet, handout or PowerPoint. The material must be in MS Word, MS PowerPoint or PDF format. The health education material is worth 5 points (5%) of your grade. Grading rubric is in Blackboard with link to submit assignment.
